Concrete cover

In the Concrete cover tab, you define the concrete cover of the reinforcement for the single foundation

Options

Use the check boxes in the Options section to control how the concrete cover is determined.

User-defined: Activate this check box to enter the nominal concrete cover c,,nom,, manually for all sides, independent of the standard. Different on cross-section sides: If this check box is activated, you can define different exposure classes and minimum concrete covers for the top side of plate, bottom side of plate, and plate side.

Concrete Durability

In this section, you assign an exposure class to each foundation side. The exposure classes form the basis for the standard-compliant determination of the minimum concrete cover.

Top side of plate: Exposure class of the top of the foundation body. Bottom side of plate: Exposure class of the bottom of the foundation body (contact surface to the subsoil). Plate side: Exposure class of the lateral surfaces of the foundation body.

The exposure classes can be selected via the drop-down menu or managed using the buttons to the right of it.

Minimum concrete cover according to standard

The values in this section show the nominally determined nominal concrete cover c,,nom,, for each foundation side. The results depend on the selected exposure class and the design standard.

Top side of platec,,nom,,(top): Nominal concrete cover at the top side. Bottom side of platec,,nom,,(bottom): Nominal concrete cover at the bottom side. Plate sidec,,nom,,(side): Nominal concrete cover at the side surfaces.

The associated graphic on the right side of the tab illustrates the position of the three concrete cover dimensions on the foundation cross-section.
