Parts describe the geometry of the cross-section.
Boundary Lines
You can use existing 'boundary lines' to enter a part. You can also use the graphical input, where the program automatically generates the definition lines. Various forms of parts are accessible via the list button.
You can define the part graphically (after clicking OK in the dialog box) by drawing a rectangle, circle, etc. If you select its ' boundary ', RSECTION will automatically recognize the part as soon as a sufficient number of boundary lines has been determined.
Base
The Basic tab manages elementary part parameters.
Material
In the list of already created materials, you can select a material for the part, edit it, or define a new one.
Only shear transfer
The check box allows you to create a shear-resistant connection between two parts without considering the area and mass of the part in the cross-section properties.
Integrated objects
As a rule, RSECTION automatically detects all openings that lie in the part. The numbers of the associated openings are given in the section ' Integrated objects in part '.
If an opening is not recognized, you should integrate it manually: Deactivate the Automatic object detection. The input fields in the section 'Integrated objects in opening' are now accessible. Add the missing opening number or use the button to define the opening graphically.
Information | Analytical & Mesh
This section provides an overview of important properties of the part such as area, mass, and the location of the center of gravity. Openings are considered accordingly if they are integrated into the part.
