With parts, the geometry of the cross-section is described.
Boundary lines
To enter a part, you can use existing 'boundary lines'. You can also use graphical input, where the program automatically creates the definition lines. Various part shapes are accessible via the list button.
You can define the part graphically after clicking OK in the dialog by drawing a rectangle, circle, etc. If you select its 'boundary', RSECTION automatically recognizes the part as soon as a sufficient number of boundary lines is defined.
Basis
The Basis tab manages basic part parameters.
Material
In the list of already created materials, you can select a material for the part or edit it and define a new one.
Integrated Objects
RSECTION usually automatically recognizes all openings located in the part. The numbers of the associated openings are specified in the 'Integrated Objects in Part' section.
If an opening is not recognized, you should integrate it manually: Deactivate Automatic Object Recognition. The input fields in the 'Integrated Objects in Opening' section are now accessible. Add the missing opening number or use button
to define the opening graphically.
Information | Analytical
This section provides an overview of important part properties such as area, mass, and the position of the centroid. Openings are taken into account accordingly if they are integrated into the part.
