Parts

With parts, the geometry of the cross-section is described.

Boundary lines

To enter a part, you can use existing 'Boundary lines'. You can also use the graphical input, where the program generates the definition lines automatically. Various shapes of parts are accessible via the list button.

Graphical Input of Parts

You can define the part (after OK in the dialog box) graphically by drawing a rectangle, circle, etc. If you 'Select boundary', RSECTION automatically recognizes the part as soon as a sufficient number of boundary lines is defined.

Main

The Main tab manages basic part parameters.

Material

In the list of already created materials, you can select a material for the part, or edit and define a new one.

Integrated objects

RSECTION usually detects all openings that lie within the part automatically. The numbers of the associated openings are specified in the 'Integrated objects in part' section.

If an opening is not detected, you should integrate it manually: Deactivate the Automatic object detection. The input fields in the 'Integrated objects in opening' section are now accessible. Add the missing opening number or use the button to determine the opening graphically.

Information | Analytical

This section provides an overview of important properties of the part, such as surface area, mass, and location of the center of gravity. Openings are considered accordingly if they are integrated into the part.
