With the Generate Bracing in Cells function, you can quickly create diagonals for frame structures. The members must form a so-called "cell", i.e., an area in a plane enclosed on all sides by members and formed by four corner nodes.
Call the function via the Tools → Generate Model - Members menu. The 'Generate Bracing in Cells' dialog box appears.
In the 'Bracing Member Template' section, define a template member whose cross-section and member type are to be used for the diagonals. Use the
button to select the member graphically in the work window.
Then click the
button (marked in the image above) in the 'Cells' section at the bottom. All cells that the program detects in the model are now marked with a cross in the graphic.
Click the relevant cells one after the other so that they are displayed in the selection color. Click OK to return to the initial dialog box.
The selected cells are listed in a list. If necessary, you can make changes here. After clicking OK, the program creates the bracings in the specified areas.
