In addition to the general Mesh Settings, you can influence the generation of the FE mesh by means of specific mesh refinements, for example to achieve a finer discretization in connection regions. Mesh refinements often also provide a good compromise between result accuracy and computation time.
In principle, you can use four types of FE mesh refinements:
- Node mesh refinements for refinement regions around a node
- Line mesh refinements for refinements along a line
- Surface mesh refinements for refinements on a surface
- Solid mesh refinements for refinements in a solid body
