In addition to the general Mesh Settings, you can influence the FE mesh generation by means of specific mesh refinements, for example, to achieve a finer discretization for connection areas. Mesh refinements often represent a good compromise between accuracy of results and computing time.
In principle, you can use four types of FE mesh refinements:
- Nodal Mesh Refinements for refinement areas around a node
- Line Mesh Refinements for refinements along a line
- Surface Mesh Refinements for refinements on a surface
- Solid Mesh Refinements for refinements in a solid
