Import or Export of Excel Table

The data exchange with MS Excel is based on the Dlubal API (SOAP). It allows both the import of structural and load data into the current table and the export of results as an Excel file and in JSON format.

Important

Direct import and export is only possible for the current table. If you want to transfer multiple tables to Excel at once, use the ExportTables function in the File menu. You can then select the relevant tables in a dialog.

There are three buttons available in the table toolbar for data exchange with MS Excel.

Settings for Import and Export

With the button Excel Settings , you can open a dialog where you can make general settings for import and export.

In the 'Table Parameters' category, you can determine how the table's header is handled during data exchange. The 'Transmission Parameters' category contains control options for direct communication with MS Excel.

Import Table

Open the Excel workbook. If the worksheet has headers, deactivate the 'Including Table Header' checkbox in the dialog Excel Settings. This will ignore the headers during import and only transfer the lists to the table. When importing an entire workbook, the order and structure of the worksheets must fully match the RFEM tables.

Click the Importing Excel File button to start the import.

Tip

If you only want to import specific parts of the worksheet, use the copy function: Select the relevant area in the Excel table and copy it to the clipboard with [Ctrl]+[C]. Then place the cursor in the appropriate cell of the RFEM table and paste the clipboard content there with [Ctrl]+[V].

Export Table

With the options of the drop-down button Excel Export List , you can export the current table to MS Excel or to the JSON format.

MS Excel is automatically opened. The worksheet contains the content of the RFEM table, including headers.

When exporting to JSON, specify the file location.

Tip

The button Excel Export List is also available in some dialogs. This allows you to export material or cross-section values, for example.
