Clipping boxes

A clipping box is a cuboid-shaped cutout for specific areas of the model. This allows you to focus on particular objects and hide less relevant parts of the model.

Tip

You can quickly define a new clipping box using the New Clipping Box button in the CAD toolbar.

Coordinate system

Specify the coordinate system to which the clipping box refers. You can select a User-defined coordinate system from the list or create a new one using the New button.

Origin point

Enter the 'Point coordinates' that represent the center of the clipping box. You can also define this point graphically using the Single Selection button.

Dimensions

The size of the cuboid is described by the dimensions applied symmetrically from the center in each of the three directions. For an asymmetrical arrangement, use the Select Two button and select any two points in the work window.

In the work window, the clipping box is framed by a cuboid. Parts located outside are clipped.

To enable or disable a clipping box, use the shortcut menu in the Navigator (compare image Enabling and disabling a clipping plane ).
