Imposed Line Deformations

An imposed line displacement is the displacement of a supported line due to, for example, a foundation settlement.

Important

Imposed displacements are only effective on lines that are supported in the direction of the deformation.

In the list, select the 'Load Case' to which you want to assign the imposed displacement.

Imposed Displacement

The imposed displacement can act in the directions that are parallel to the global coordinate system. Enter the values of the displacement that are available 'At line start' and 'At line end'. A linear distribution is assumed between the start and end values.

If the displacement of the supported line is not parallel to one of the global axes, specify the X-, Y-, and Z-components.

Imposed Rotation

For an imposed rotation about the longitudinal line axis x, enter the values that are available 'At line start' and 'At line end'. A positive imposed rotation acts clockwise about the positive x-axis of the line.
