The button
shows or hides the result values of the **members**. For the results of the **surfaces**, special functions are available that allow a targeted evaluation.
Displaying Result Values
You can control in the 'Navigator - Results' whether result values are displayed on the surfaces and which results are shown in detail. Use the **Values on Surfaces** entries in the two navigator sections for this.
With the 'Values on Surfaces' category in the upper section, you can switch the display of the result values on and off. Here, you also define the result type(s) whose values are displayed.
The 'Values on Surfaces' category in the lower section manages several settings with which you can influence the output and display of the result values.
Result Category for Values
In the upper navigator section, you define the result category to be used for the value display.
Current Selection
The 'Current Selection' selection field is coordinated with the graphical results: In the image above, these are the basic internal forces my. In this way, the result values of the current deformation, internal force, or stress graphic are displayed.
Groups
The 'Groups' selection field offers the option to display two result values at each result point. Four groups with internal forces and stresses are available. The image above shows the group of principal moments m1 and m2. The grid values are arranged rotated by the angle αb.
Specific
With the options of the 'Specific' selection field, you can individually define which result values are displayed: deformations, internal forces, stresses, distortions. The image above shows the values of the principal stresses present on the positive and negative surface side respectively.
Settings for Result Values
In the lower navigator section, you can specify at which points result values are displayed and in which form they appear.
Extrema
With the 'Extrema' check box, you can control whether only the extreme values of the results are displayed. Depending on the setting, the respective minima or maxima of the model, the surfaces, or the solids appear. The image above shows the minimum and maximum principal moments m1 present in each surface.
At Grid and User-Defined Points / At FE Mesh Points
The result values are displayed either in the grid points and user-defined result points or in the FE mesh points. The image above shows the maximum equivalent stresses σv present at the nodes of the mesh.
You can make the settings for the result grid of a surface in the Edit Surface dialog box. The user-defined result points are managed in the Result Objects category. With the button
, you can also place result points directly.
Symbols / Numbering / Transparent
The last three check boxes of the lower 'Values on Surfaces' section control how the values are displayed.
- Symbols: The result type (u, m1, σz) is also specified.
- Numbering: The number of the grid point **R** or FE mesh point **N** is displayed.
- Transparent: The values are displayed without frame and without background.
The following image shows the principal moments with numbering of the FE nodes in transparent display.
Adjusting Color and Font of Result Values
To adjust the colors and font of the result values, select the **Display Properties** function in the **Options** menu. In the 'Display Properties' dialog box, open the **Results** category. Select the **Values on Surfaces** entry.
In the 'Values on Surfaces' section, you can now adjust the color of the background and the frame, the font, the arrangement, and the transparency. The changes are shown in the preview on the right.
Separate specifications for the 'Screen' and the 'Printout Report' are possible. If the button
is activated, the changes are synchronized for both output types.
Filtering Result Values
For the result values, there are filter options that you can use for displaying the results. In the 'Results' menu, use the **Result Value Filter** function to open the 'Result Value Filter' dialog box.
In the result value filter, you can define criteria for the display of the result values.
Current Filter Set
The section on the upper left offers the option to save filter settings. All results without restrictions are preset as 'Standard'.
To save specific settings for the result values, click the button
. In the 'New Filter Set' dialog box, enter a name.
After OK, you can make the settings for the new filter set. They are then available for the evaluation in the 'Current Filter Set' list.
Values
In the directory tree, use the check boxes to define for which result types you want to set criteria. If you check a check box, you can specify the conditions for this result type in the 'Display by Criteria' section.
Display by Criteria
Here, you can define the conditions that apply to the result values of the selected result type. In the second column, select which comparison should apply. In the third column, enter the governing value.
To define another criterion, select the entry 'or' (each criterion counts on its own) or 'and' (each criterion must be fulfilled) in the last column. Then define the next condition in the new line.
The image Define filter criteria for result values shows criteria for the surface principal moments. With these specifications, all values of the moments m1 that lie between ±50 kNm are hidden.
